Madara is originally from Sri Lanka, and has a BA (Hons) First Class in Interior Design from Northumbria University, and recently graduated with an MFA in Interior Design from Iowa State University. Her research focused on Narrative Environments in Hospitality Design and her work gained recognition in the Metropolis Future 100 List of 2023. Prior to arriving in the US, she also worked as an Interior Designer for 5 years, in the retail, residential, hospitality and healthcare sectors of Colombo, Sri Lanka. In her free time, she’s either off swimming, experimenting with cooking, binging mystery shows or having some kind of new experience!

She can Wordle in under 2 minutes (usually), and lives with her husband Chad, and their two cats Mister and Emmy.
