The existing Village Hall building was severely undersized and didn’t provide adequate space for administrative needs. A new building was built on a vacant site owned by the Village, after a design was prepared and a concept and budget report was developed. The design included a public facing lobby that provided pre-function space for a large meeting room, intended for conducting Village Board of Trustee meetings. However, a smaller conference room is available for breakout meetings.
Built in cameras and microphones allow for broadcasting these meetings on community television stations. Offices can accommodate the current and future administrative staff needs. An approach was carefully considered which addressed active shooter/hostile event response. Some of these solutions included access control via card readers, bullet resistant glazing, and special wall materials in strategic locations.
